Los Angeles -- After the big money Michael Jackson's documentary pulled in this weekend, Sony has decided to extend its run in theaters.

"This Is It" pulled in $101 million in its first five days of release, according to studio estimates.

It earned $21.3 million over Halloween weekend, to open at No. 1.

Sony had intended to run the film for only two weeks. It will now keep the film in theaters through at least Thanksgiving weekend.
