Victim Shot At LandMark Inn Dies

Greensboro, NC -- Greensboro Police are investigating an early morning shooting that closed South Elm-Eugene Street.

Police say Bryon Robert Renwick was shot on the backside of the LandMark Inn around 6:00 am.

Officers say Renwick was able to drive himself along South Elm-Eugene Street to the VFW Post and call 911.   He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police closed South Elm-Eugene Street between West Meadowview Road and Patton Avenue for about two hours Tuesday morning.

Police are still investigating and looking for a suspect.

Two weeks ago, 34-year-old Jermaine Tinsley was found shot to death in front of one of the buildings at the LandMark Inn.

Records show police calls to the motel have doubled this year.  In 2008, there were 176 calls to the Landmark Inn.  This year that number has climbed to 449.

The motel manager tells WFMY News 2 that most of the problems are caused by people coming onto the property, not those staying there.
